Whether at home or on the road there are always visual treats worth at least attempting to capture on film, as it were. Because I never use film anymore. A camera being what it is these days. I do on some occasions get a chance to travel. More often than not, even if it is just with the little phone that in this day and age I carry with me everywhere, I can get a handful of decent snapshots that help describe the aesthetic, grace and feel of those places I visit. Here, as another casual @VozSilvestre close of the year media experiment, are some fotos from near and far travels over the past year, starting with those above from the time travel of Kyoto, Japan.
I had never traveled to Asia before, but I was in Japan in late September into early October of 2025. I had never been to Africa before either, but with Hands Off Mother Earth Alliance I was in Nairobi, Kenya, for a week of work in May 2025. At the end of our work sessions I did get away to Amboseli National Park, for just a few very simple low budget safari days, in the shadow of Mt. Kilimanjaro, which I never did see. The time in the field was still impressive and grounding, as brief as it was.

That was fun to put together, it you get this far in perusing this post take a moment and do check the snapshot video from my very cool and ever so brief trip to Japan. One can only be grateful for opportunities to see and know a tiny bit of the bigger world, especially in these unfortunate times of xenophobia and bigotry. This is my giving thanks post for the fortune I have to travel, whether it be near or far.
